Trippin South East Asia: Singapore Part 6- Bugis Street and Marina Bay Sand

Heyo2, sambung kasi habis cerita Singapore. Jom kita ke Bugis Street Singapore! Area dia macam Petaling Street kita tapi bersih sikit and teratur. Buat ladies yang giler shopping, aku rasa ni tempat yang perfect untuk korang. Aku gi pon sebab curious nak tau apa ada kat sana..hehe...

Bukan shopping pon, souvenir dah beli kat Chinatown. And here's a tip, silalah beli banyak2 souvenir kat ChinaTown sebab seriously kat sini nan hado nyer murah, rasanya 2 kali ganda mahal. So, jadilah pengguna bijak ye tak? ;)

Welcome to Bugis Street, you shopping event. My "stalk" place..haha
Aku tak buat apa2 sangat pon kat sini. Nak kata makan, perasaan was2 tu still ada walaupun pakcik tu jual karipap. Hadoiii... last2 aku bantai juices and ice-cream potong. Ni benda wajib korang kena cuba dekat Bugis Street ni!

Dah lah murah, well S$1 jer kot fresh juice and ice-cream tu. Yang juice ni korang nak masuk jer entrance Bugis Street ni mesti nampak apek ngan amoi tu jual. Yang penting FRESH, PULPY and REAL FRUIT! Giler shiok!Kalau kat KL, mau dekat 10 hinggit nak minum just macam ni.

Siap ber-mic and speaker bagai. Apek punya marketing terbaik woh! haha
Ni tak silap aku Australian cherry! Perghh...masam manis, and of coz no sugarh babeyh!
Ni lah Ice-cream potong yang aku mentioned tu. Btw, maapler kuku panjang tu..haha
Actually hari ni dah last day dah kat Singapore. Alkisahnya bila balik hostel petang tu, Natalie and Camille ada kat common hall. Sembang2, ingat kan nak rehat2 sekali diorang ajak naik 57th floor of Marina Bay Sand. Perghhh... ingat lagi time kat Merlion Park tu, dalam hati angan2 nak tengok atas tu. Ambik kau Tuhan makbul tang2 tu jugak! :')

Kitaorang naik cab dari Little India direct ke Marina Bay Sand. Okaylah, kitaorang share the cab fare about S$6. Time ni actually besides nak naik atas tu, nak catch the water show that Esplanade theatre bawah tu. So, agak rushing but still bila sampai 57th floor tu, habis mengalir airmata.... Amazing sgt2.

Haha...gambar ni Camillie ambik. Silalah ignore lemak2 berlebihan ini..Backpacker sungguh dak? ;)
Here's a tip, instead of paying S$20 to go up the hanging garden kat atas tu, baiklah kome simpan duit tu. It's actually easy, korang just act macam nak minum kat bar tu, takyah beli apa2 pon, and just take the opportunity to take photos and all. Diorang tak halau eh, so aku ikut je lah diorang ni. It works! So, dptlah tengok view Singapore for FREE!

Natalie and Camille, two of the best people I have ever met while traveling! Miss you guys! :'(
The awesome view! I cried seeing this. AMAZING!
Snap away lots of photos, wonder when I would be able to come back! :')
Masa nak balik ni, actually dah kelam-kabut sikit because Woodlands tu agak jauh lah dari city centre. Time ni mati2 ingat train tu pukul 11pm, dengan salah naik train lagi, dengan cuak tak tau sempat ke tak, serious ingat dah kena tinggal.

Duit dalam pocket tinggal $S20 jer lagi, bank card to active semua, siap mintak tolong strangers google maps semua..Kelakar giler! Time nak dekat sampai baru terpikir nak tgk balik ticket, cetttt...11.30pm kot. Buat penat jer gelabah, sampai orang immigration gelak2 tengok aku lari2 antara dua borders ni..hahaha..hilang comel! =.="

Bye2 Singapore, thank you for being the place for me to start my journey!
Singapore has a special place in my heart, my 1st leg of my 1 month of amazing traveling. This is where I learned how to maneuver around and really trust my instinct. In fact, after I reached Kuala Lumpur,I only went home for 24 hours to repack my back and leave again. This time I left for "Overland Thailand".

Keep your eyes on my next leg of backpacking journey, more to come. InshaAllah....

Trippin South East Asia: Singapore Part 5.

Jom sambung kasi habis cerita kat Singapore! :D For those who missed previous post, kat sidebar ada Trippin Singapore, check it out!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since Fatt dah buat aku hooked up to the idea of sending postcard, aku pon ke Chinatown. Sebabnya most of postcards aku jumpa kat tempat lain semuanya S$1 sekeping, matiler nak hantar banyak2 kan.

Buat mereka2 yang tersayang- termasuklah diri sendiri...
Idea nak ke Chinatown ni pon lepas minah kat reception bagi idea why don't I go there since mostly souvenirs murah2. Alkisahnyer aku complaint cakap tak jumpa2 postcard murah..hihi

Aku gerak dari Singapore Science Centre terus ke Chinatown. Kiranya dari Jurong East take MRT to ChinaTown. Since they are both from different lane, you have to go to any nearby interchange.

This is the real exit, aku keluar jalan jauh pastu ala2 sesat..cettt...
Macam2 ada kat sini, dari souvenir, household, baju, even perfume! Aku masuk lah kedai perfume tu, walaupun teramat murah tapi aku memang takda budget nak spent dah..haha..  Duit tinggal berapa kerat jer, kang jadi perlarian kat temasik! sadis!

Lepas pusing2 semua kedai, mostly jual sekeping postcard S$0.50. Last2 aku gi satu kedai uncle ni, muka dia cam friendly, aku pon mengayat sedap lah..hahaha.. last2 dia bagi 5 keping untuk S$2, bargain!

Selain tu, aku ambik lah satu fridge magnet sebab dulu aku tgk cousin2 aku ada benda tu, aku nak jugak! Harga fridge magnet okaylah, mostly between 5-6 pieces for S$10 and ada yang lagi murah, depends lah.

Manusia kat sini ramai giler, even local pon shopping sini. Korang nampak kan prices dia? Murah beb!
Besar gak tempat dia,aku pusing habis-habisan lah. Bila lah lagi nak datang kan? Satu jer tak best, tak jumpa tempat makan halal. T_T

But aku memang kaki vegan gak lah, so bantai makan vegetarian food pon tarak hal. Tanya2, tengok2 kedai, bila rasa was2 takda, aku pon Bismillahirohmanirahimmmmmm... ngap! Makan vegetarian ni murah gak lah, S$3 for 3 meals/lauk.
Percaya tak semua ni vegan? Serious rindu nak makan ni!
Besides that, banyak jugak gerai2 tepi-tepi jalan tu yang jual desserts, mainly chinese desserts.  Yang aku makan ni baru S$2 jer, boleh pilih soup nak peanut atau ginger. The sweet balls ni ada filing2 tau, dari matcha to kacang merah! terliur beb!

Ginger soup with variety of sweet balls!Must try!
Chinatown ni memang aku recommend untuk cari souvenirs sebab time aku kat Bugis Street harga dia lipat ganda kot! Perghhh...nasib baik dah beli kat Chinatown. Tempat ni macam Petaling Street tapi cleaner and safer lah. So, mesti gi bila kat Singapore!

p/s: Thank you sebab bersabar baca, InshaAllah, takda aral melintang, soon Overland Trip Thailand will come in! :D

Trippin South East Asia: Singapore Part 4.

I know tak habis2 lagi cerita Singapore but I promise lepas ni aku akan masuk cerita kat other countries lak..haha..hopefully, so in case korang terlepas post lepas2, boleh baca kat sini Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alkisahnya, aku semangat bangun pagi2 tu breakfast kat hostel semua. Okaylah, normal American breakie with coffee! Yums, ingatkan nak ajak mamat Aussie yg belanja aku makan lunch tu jalan2 sekali aku tengok dia ting tong tidor kat common area. I bet they drank a lot malam semalam! LOL... aku minum vitamin water jer lah...ting tong sugar ja! :P

So, since dalam kepala otak aku dah set mesti visit at least one science centre (katanya peminat tegar sciences!), so aku surf sikit information online, route and pricing semua. Set to go lah!

Sekali, ada 2 orang mamat Swedish ni yang aku sembang2 kat common area malam semalam tanya aku nak gi mana. Aku cakap Science Centre and dengan tak malunya ajak lah diorang gi sekali. Diorang cakap okay, tunggu diorang mandi jap semua terus gerak. Lupa lak, these 2 guys are Dante and Marcus.

In order to get to Singapore Science Centre, you can take MRT to Jurong East Interchange, since aku dari Little India, tukar kat Dhobi Ghout untuk ke Jurong East. Like I said before, aku pakai Tourist Pass, so senang giler lah. Dari Jurong East tu, nak jalan kaki pon boleh but aku kejar masa kan, so ambik bus. Korang boleh ambik bus number 66, 198, or 335  and Science Centre ni is only 2 bus stops away.

Masa aku kat Singapore Science Centre ni adalah pulak macam2 exhibition dari Dinosaur ke historical sciences. Ikutkan hati mau aku masuk semua gak tapi apakah daya, duit aku bukan ala2 kepuk NFC tu..hihi... last2 aku ambik package Snow City + Science Centre, harga ticket S$ 16 . Okaylah...tang snow tu aku jakun sebenarnya, ye lah dulu2 time kanak2 ribena jer pernah masuk kat Genting.

Yang sweetnya, mamat Swedish 2 orang ni siap cakap "Go on, enjoy the snow, we'll wait for you! ". Ye lah diorang kan datang Asia nak skip snow yang aku lak jakun..haha.. Kira baik gak lah diorang tunggu kat Mcd dekat sejam aku main snow. Tack Dante och Marcus!

Snow City kat sini kecik jer, tapi tak crowded, best lah. Siap ada photographer yg baik and cute tolong ambik gambar! Haha...macam2 dia suruh aku posing. Tapi harga confirm mahal nak mampus. Sekeping dalam berapa belas dollar tah...memang tak ambik lah.

Ni aku curi tangkap kat counter dia, akak tu pusing jer aku snap!hihi...cheapskate tol!
Ni kat luar, kat dalam takleh bawak camera. Time aku tempek kat FB, ramai tetipu ingat aku betul2 kat Amsterdam.. hihi...sorry guys!

Kat dalam ni ada macam2 sections, like seriously besar and of coz wayyy better than our Pusat Science Negara. duhhh... Aku enjoy sangat2 sampai lupa nak snap2 gambar. Seriously perak lagi jakun masuk dalam tu. Aku rasa macam budak2 balik.

Aku rasa ada gak dalam about 2 hours plus lah dalam tu but still takleh nak cover all areas. Actually aku ngan Dante and Marcus plan nak gi Chinatown after the Science Centre and diorang pon nak kejar city tour diorang.

Ni jer satu2 nya gambar aku ngan Marcus. Tapi aku yakin kalau Fatt tengok mamat ni, cair! haha... dia kan taste2 european ni. :P

Ni gambar Dante ambik.  Tu jer lah pon gambar...sadiss..

So, kitaorang berpisah kat MRT interchange jer. Aku head ke Chinatown, diorang balik hostel. Ingatkan dapat jumpa diorang sekali aku balik, diorang still our touring. Sedih gak tak dapat cakap goodbye but we keep in touch on FB.

Anyhow, nak tau lebih lanjut pasal Science Centre ni leh gi website here.

p/s: Ada lagi dalam 2 post kot sebelum aku masuk entry Thailand lak.. hang on with me k! Danke! :D

Trippin South East Asia: Singapore Part 3.

Since aku travel sebulan, so agak banyaklah posts. Hehe..so, kita stilll lagi di Singapore, kalau korang missed the earlier parts, boleh lah baca Part 1 and Part 2. Enjoy!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, lepas habis Singapore National Museum, aku ingat nak gi lah jalan2 kat Fort Canning. I was told it was just at the back of the museum. Tapi atas faktor aku dah penat giler and hari pon nak gelap, aku forgo lah plan tu...

Aku jalan sampai NUS (National University of Singapore). Best kot faculty dalam town! So, dari NUS I took the bus to Dhobi Ghout station. Since aku pakai Singapore Tourist Pass, I just tap in and tap out. Easy!

Ni rupa bus kat Singapore. Double decker yo! Tapi aku malas naik atas..haha

Plan agak kacau bilau coz time ni dah dalam pukul 4pm lebih so banyak attraction dah nak tutup. Jadi aku tukar plan gi The Merlion Park. Dari MRT Dhobi Ghout, take the train to Raffles Place (NS26/EW14) lepas tu walk jer towards Esplanade.  Takpon info lain aku tahu, take TIBS bus 167 or 182 from Orchard Road.

Ini bukan lucah pedophile yer..haha..ni antara statues yang ada along the canal to The Merlion Park.

Along the way to The Merlion Park ni ada macam-macam attractions jugak. So take time to stroll along the canal, and kalau ada orang jual ice-cream, beli and fefeeling lah anda. haha.. Best kot jalan2 sambil makan ice-cream... ;p

Kalau nak buat mesyuarat MLM pong boleh kat sini...haha

Nak jalan ke The Merlion Park tu bolehlah jauh distance dia. Tu yang aku cakap take the time to experience everything. Best tengok orang2 kaya Singapore ni...hehe.. Sambil2 tu boleh kenal2 backpackers lain macam aku..muka tak malu kan tegur2 orang? :P

Told ya, meet Deon, Ree Ree and Fifie from Indonesia!

I met this trio on the way to The Merlion Park. Ingatkan local..hehe...They were there for this famous Kpop concert. Aku pon tak tau concert sapa but sanggup ko travel all the way untuk tengok. Sungguh kipas susah mati habis!

Terus click kot, dari situ terus jalan2 together sampai Merlion Park. Even after that I brought them back to my hostel since diorang pon takda place to stay lagi. Unfortunately takda bed dah kat The Inn-Crowd, so kita berpisah disitu.. wuhuuu... T_T best kot hang out dengan diorang. Mekasih you guys! Gue had fun banget! :D

Tadaaaa!! Ini lah si famous Merlion! go kisskiss hughug xD

Tempat ni actually by the seaside, ada eateries gak around this around. But me being cheapskate of coz lah I skip all these over-priced food place. Ada yang kecik gak Merlion ni, so make sure you guys walk till hujung. Agak amazing gak lah tempat ni walaupun kecik jer...

The view takyah cakaplah...AMAZING... aku agak speechless bila sampai kat situ. I spent almost 2 hours gak duduk kat situ sembang2 and memikirkan apalah aku nak buat ngan hidup aku ni. Serious...

See...now close that mouth! haha
Mesyuarat 2 negara, "esok gue hantar bekalan tempe buat lu ya cuy!"

Persetujuan dicapai! Bekalan tempe tak akan terputus. Misi damai tempe berjaya! hehe

I like The Merlion Park, besides it being a symbol for Singapore, it's actually a cool place to hang out. Plus the scenery, time well spent there! And it's FREE! Who doesn't like free place..haha

Cubaan menjadi model hebak.Failed! -_-"

So yeah, kalau ada chance, take time and datang sini tau! Walaupun seketui dua ja si Merlion ni tapi the scenery tu sangat sangat sangat AWESOMEEEE...

p/s: Lepas The Merlion Park aku balik and tido, next day adventure aku update later lah..

to be continued...

Trippin South East Asia: Singapore Part 1.

Singapore.

The train departed at about 8pm from KL Sentral. I did nothing much in the train besides sleeping, and eating..haha. It took about 7 hours to reach Woodlands checkpoint; Singapore Immigration was a breeze.

It was about 6 am and I seriously had no idea how to get to the city from Woodlands. The only thing I knew, it was farrrr… haha.

Met with this couple from Paris who was travelling Asia, I got to practice my French! Tu est parle francais? ;)

We took the bus to Woodlands MRT which cost S$ 1.10. Since Karim and Aishah (the French couple) had little Singapore Dollars, we waited till about 10am at a mall besides Woodlands MRT.

We parted ways as I needed to get to Ang Mo Kio station to get my Tourist Card that cost S$8/per day. The card entitled me with unlimited travel on bus, MRT, as well as LRT on all lines. You need to ask the counter which station has this card.

Plus, with the price of the card, you would need to pay a deposit of S$10, it will be returned once you return your card.
In Singapore, the first time you purchase your ticket for the MRT/LRT, the price will be added with S$1 deposit for the ticket. You can hold on to the card if you need to use the MRT/LRT again.

If you are done with the travel of the day, simply return the card to the machine and you’ll get your S$1 back!

After Ang Mo Kio, I took the MRT on the Red Line and interchanged at Dhobi Ghout (Purple line) to go to Little India. I didn’t book any hostel as this trip was rather a random one, so I had to stroll around Little India.

And to make it worst, it was raining!

But after asking around, I was told that there are Checkers, The Inn-Crowd and some other hostels in that area. All other hostels were full; I ended up getting a bed at The Inn-Crowd. It cost S$20 per night with free breakfast and wifi.

I was tired that I slept throughout the morning and woke up about 1pm.

It so happened when I was just done showering, this one guy from Australia was looking for his bed. We had some chat and I excused myself as I wanted to find some lunch. He actually wanted to join me. We ate at this Vegetarian Indian Food shop.

He took out his chess set and we played it there (I’m not much of a chess player but yeah, it was weird game), he was super nice that he picked up the check for lunch! How more awesome it could be? ;)
