Borneo Jazz Festival 2013 with Airasia!

Yes, I was at the it Borneo Jazz Festival 2013 in Miri, Sarawak!

I've been wanting to backpack to any of these famous World Music Festivals but because of the time and money constraint back then when I was a student, I had to forget about it. Now at 22, I got to fly in to Miri and experience it myself. Dreams do come true ya know? So now keep dreaming! :P

I flew in via Airasia, again on a very very early morning flight! Do you you know that AirAsia flies to Miri, Sarawak 4 times a day? I would take that as a sign to fly in Miri just to eat Lalapan and Mee Pok Kolok again.

So the package I took includes hotel stays at Parkcity Everyly, by the beach side and exactly beside the stage! I could hear people sound-checking when I arrived. I was lucky too when I got to get into the Press Conference and took photo with the celebs! Not to forget some really awesome acapella.

These are The Nylons who flew 30 hours to sing to us!
Since show wasn't starting yet when I arrive, it got in touch with some really awesome Sarawak Bloggers who took me around town, feed me with grace and bought me so many souvenirs! Aiyohh, people in Sarawak are so nice!

They took me around to catch the sunset and see the Grand Old Lady on top of the Canada Hill. Like Visa, my time with them was priceless.

We gathered together on both nights for Borneo Jazz Festival. We danced, eat, talked and just let ourselves out over the awesome Jazz music.

So we got people like Lisa Young Quadtret, The Nylons (Ohhhh they were so good!) and some many awesome Jazz singers and music players. I have to be honest, my music knowledge is a good as newborn babies! But I sure know what music to appreciate, especially those that got my grooves on! ;D

On the 2nd day, towards the end of the end of the show, it rain! Yes, rain in a rainforest in a Jazz festival! I still remember how I ditched my bag and ran to the ground and dance with the strangers. Music binds us together that night coz a lady remembered me when I landed in LCCT. She remembered seeing me dance in the rain.

It was truly an amazing event for me! Definitely keeping all the Music festival dates on my calendar. Can't wait to be back next year and this is happening from 10- 15 May 2014! So start saving now people! :D

Till then, keep on traveling peeps! :D

Hong Kong Disneyland here I come!

*it's going to be one lengthy post, bear with me*

It has been a year now that am traveling, most of it I was backpacking. So when mom told me that I should spare sometimes for family, I kinda decided to spent more time with my 8 year old lil sister, baby princess (she insisted of me writing her name like this, even dared checking my post*facepalm*)

After reading countless reviews and stories and rantings as well as looking at the flight tickets, I decided that Hong Kong Disneyland offers one of the best attractions that fits into my budgeting! Plus, it is just about 3.4 hours away from Malaysia...easy for the big brother who is scared of flying eh? *more facepalm*

So yeah, there we were on the very early morning flight out from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong via Airasia. I was hoping she would fell asleep but I guess Disneyland kept her awake most of the flying hours. It was good flight and we landed safely in Hong Kong International Aiport! Talk about being excited, we immediately whatsapp home a video to our worried mom (Mom, we are FINE! :P)

Since I'm too used with using public transports (blame the backpacker's gene) , I made my 8 year old sister into probably one of the youngest backpacker ever! :P

And so we rode on the train from Hong Kong International Airport to Tsing Yi before via the Airport Express before changing on to MTR to Sunny Bay and finally changed to The Disneyland Train Line!

Since I was traveling with my sister, the Airport Express from Hong Kong International Airport to Tsing Yi station cost us HKD 75 (roughly about RM30/USD10) and from Tsing Yi interchange to Disneyland station cost us HKD 19.5 (RM 8/USD 2.50). From the Disneyland MTR station, there are buses/shuttles that can ferry you from the Disneyland Park to the hotels.

But on the day that we departed home, I decided to try a different route to the airport and found out that it is a lot cheaper via this route. I could have saved a lot! LOL

From Disneyland MTR Station, take the train to Sunny Bay Station and then interchange to Tung Chun Station, you'll arrive at a mall called City Gate( do stop and shop cheap stuffs there!! hehe)

From Tung Chun, there is bus number S1 that cost about HKD 3.5 for adult and HKD 1.8 for kids! From Disneyland to Airport via this route cost us less than HKD 10! That is a saving of about HKD 90! :D

I booked for us to stay at Disney's Hollywood Hotel, Hong Kong Disneyland] More of that in another post! Till then, keep on travelling peeps!! :D

I'm one of Airasia Bloggers Community!

If there is anything epic about my blogging life, this is is one of it.

Well, it is official that me and blog will be a part of Airasia's Bloggers Community!

It's funny how when I was climbing up my ladder in the blogging world, many whom I thought friends left me. Who stood on me, who disappeared, who never called...and well lots of other who.

But am glad, it taught me how to be independent and learn the hard way to success (Not that am successful but InshaAllah am heading there, I hope)

So, when my bigger sister, Anne from Penmerah.com told me that we are gonna be a part of AirAsia's big family, I literally shout my lungs out. It was the best news of the day, especially when I receive the official email from AirAsia's representative. I've been waiting for this my whole blog-lifetime.  ;)

It is gonna be one interesting journey now going onboard with AirAsia, like one of my friends said "your dream of travelling will never stop now!"

In this dream I live, in this life I dream - Till then, keep on traveling peeps! :D

I'm in Hong Kong!

Some of you might know about this, some of you might thought that am still in Laos. But yeah, still couldn't believe myself that I am now in Hong Kong! I flew in last Thursday morning via Airasia on their really morning flight and surprisingly it was one the best flight I've had in a while (and that's coming from a person who suffers a flying anxiety.) LOL

This time I am not travelling alone, I have my 8 years old sister with me as well as another blogger and her son. Heads up, salute to all mothers out there, I honestly say that I don't have the patience to handle children. T_T

Oh yeah, we are now in DisneyLand Hong Kong! Crazy amazing, finally after waiting my whole lifetime to visit DisneyLand, I get to do it here in Hong Kong! ;)

The only thing I couldn't stand about Hong Kong is some of their people's hostility. Rude, bad-tempered, selfish and obvious stressful. I couldn't count how many times that I've been harshly pushed, shouted at, or just being treated plain rude.

I don't know, is it because Hong Kong is too crowded that people are just too stressful even to help a lost foreigner? To give way to children? or to not Q-up accordingly?

That being said, Hong Kong is actually a pretyy awesome country albeit that scale of its islands. I've so far travelled undersea via its MTR Train, on the rustic-looking ferry and in the Hong Kong-Movie taxi!

The weather is very unpredictable actually, yesterday it was THAT COLD and today I finally got to see the sun! Still, it is wayyy too cold from my Malaysian body! And yeah, this is the only place on my one year travelling days that I've spent A LOT ON SHOPPING. T_T

Talk about bringing a kid eh? You ended up buying lots of things for her and it is not cheap here in Hong Kong but yeah, money can't buy the smile on my sister's face. I can still work to get the money eh? ;)

*am shivering while writing this, it is cold! Till then, keep on travelling peeps! :D
